This TikTok trend is called “Fiber Maxxing,” and honestly, I thought it was going to be total BS. But this one… might not be as bad as the others. We’ll break down what it’s actually promoting, what Daily 30 is, and whether you really need some influencer powder—or if a decent diet does the same thing.

Not everything on TikTok is trash… but let’s talk about the order of operations when it comes to supplements and real health changes.

Hi, I’m Matt. I’ve been doing health and wellness for over six, seven years now. I’ve tested a gazillion health and wellness products. We’ve tried diets.

We’ve tried HRV measurements. We’ve tried all types of therapies. Aaron’s got me doing reaction videos on sticking stuff up your butt. I don’t know where this tick tock trends come from, but here we are.

Let’s review another one. Everyone’s talking about it and we love it. It’s the trend that’s flipping the script on food. Instead of focusing on what to cut out, it’s about what to add in more plants, more texture, more variety.

This simple pea and pesto orzo already contains one step further by adding a scoop of daily 30. Every scoop of daily 30 has five grams of fiber from over 30 plants created by Zoe scientists to help you get more fiber and plant diversity. No extra prep. So all this tick tock bullshit is just ads for tick tock shop influencers.

Oh, okay. I’ve watched it. I don’t have a lot to say about this one. I actually like her recipe.

I think that’s great. Uh, I’m not sure I would make that recipe just so I could add whatever daily 30 that was. I don’t even know what daily 30 is. I thought it was whole food 30, which is where you focus on whole foods for 30 days, which I think has more benefit to you than any possible supplement you could ever see on one of these health and wellness tick tock trends.

But, um, yeah, without more context, I dig it. Yeah. This kind of confirms to me too, that a lot of these trends that you see on tick tock and some of this stuff, especially the virality or the viral things, it seems like they’re just to sell an item and that doesn’t inherently make the item bad.

It’s just, you can usually get that from altering your diet or for making some other change. But I also, you know, recognize that sometimes we’re unable to do that and incorporate it into a lifestyle shift and then it becomes important to have the supplement. But the, that doesn’t come before the other, you don’t put the cart before the horse in that order, right?

So until you try some other things, you don’t just.

out and start doing this supplement and that supplement for something that the food would give you anyway, if you’re unable to execute on that, then you turn to the supplement and rely on it. Usually supplements are used for specific things. They’re not just like incorporated to change your lifestyle.
