Therasage 360 Heart To Heart Talk
We Need To Talk
What Do You Guys Want From Me Here With These Portable Saunas
None are perfect
each one has kinda it’s own kwirks
emf is so so
voc’s are so so depending on which one it is
the reality is it seems there is always a compromise somewhere with these portable saunas
people have asked about the steam ones, I just can’t stand the smell from the tent
Personally I would take the fabric infrared tent sauna over the rubber steam sauna
But none of these are really up to the certified sauna standards, so I can’t really add them to the list with good confidence.
So I don’t know what to do here. I can’t just sweep this under the rug.
What would you guys prefer I do?
The only way I know of to truly fix this, is to have a sauna designed myself that meets all the criteria… and I don’t think I want to be in the physical products business really.
So I’m kind of stuck here, there aren’t any other options on the market for me to test… and I know you guys have been waiting and waiting for a good portable sauna option.

What’s going on guys?
Oh wow, hope you guys are doing well.
This corona thing is really killing my…
I need a haircut.
Anyway, hope you guys are doing great.
Hope the quarantine is as good as it can be.
I know a lot of people are having a hard time right now, so it’s been a little bit late on making the videos, especially getting them uploaded.
I’ll just jump right into it.
We gotta have a heart-to-heart talk about these portable saunas.
The Therasage 360 is one of them.
You know, I don’t know what you guys want from me here for the portable saunas.
We just need to have a little talk and then I’m gonna kind of leave it up to you.
I’ve been testing the Therasage 360.
There’s stuff that I like about it.
There’s stuff that I don’t like about it, but to be honest, none of the portable saunas are perfect.
Each one kind of has its own quirks.
One of them heats up quicker than the other.
Another one seems like it has a little bit of VOCs.
I can smell it.
This isn’t speaking about just one brand, just all the ones that I’ve tried.
Another one will have so-so EMF.
It’s just… everybody wants the top three things, right?
Price, build quality, low EMF, low VOC.
It’s like anything else.
Pick two because it’s kind of getting out of control.
Just as a general overview, the portable tent saunas like the Therasage 360 that you zip yourself up in, they work pretty well.
I mean, if it’s something that you need to get by or if that’s all the space that you have or that’s all that your budget allows or whatever it is, they will work.
Coming up with which one is the best or… what everyone really wants me to do is have some portable sauna options on the certified sauna list.
It’s just every single time I get a hold of one of these, it doesn’t matter what brand it is, it’s always one of those three things that’s holding things up.
I can’t have a portable sauna on there for two or three thousand dollars because you could go buy a stand-up wooden sauna with a glass door, nice lights, and speakers, and a stereo for the same price.
These people that are selling different types of portable sauna tents in various configurations for thousands of dollars, you know what I think about that.
It’s a complete ripoff.
On the other hand, the really cheap ones have super high EMF or really high VOCs.
I’ve been measuring some of them, but you can just tell with your nose.
The other thing is, you know, people are upset about how much of a heavy sweat it produces, the build quality, because they’re like collapsible portable tents, right?
You’ve either got to have a rod or a pole system inside to support the walls and give it its shape when you zip yourself up, or you’ve got to have cardboard.
I don’t want to call it cardboard, but that’s what it reminds me of, right?
There’s got to be flat cardboard type panels.
It’s a different material, whether it’s some type of a fiber resin material or something like that, or plastic, or who knows.
There’s various different things and the ones that kind of flip open and are more rigid.
It’s like a fabric with some type of a rigid…
It reminds me of those yard signs that are on those little metal stickers, and you jam them in the ground.
It reminds me of that material.
It’s exactly what it is.
In every one of those scenarios, there’s something that comes up that I’m really not a fan of, and there’s something that comes up that would keep me from adding those type saunas that have that stuff in it to the certified sauna list.
It just doesn’t meet the requirements in one fashion or another.
I’m really reaching here.
I don’t know what to do.
The problem is there’s a huge demand for this stuff.
There’s a huge need.
I mean, every single week people are emailing, they’re asking, they’re commenting, they’re saying, “Hey, I don’t have the budget for a big sauna.
I don’t have the budget for something that’s super low EMF or very expensive.
I have a really small space.
I live in a studio apartment.”
I totally get all this stuff.
I’ve been in all of those situations.
It’s hard because I want to find a solution to this for people.
One, selfishly, because everyone is always asking me for this, and I don’t have anything to point them to.
So the questions and everything just keep coming in.
There’s so many people out there that are literally just waiting for me to test the next product or the next brand and it be the one so that they can finally put this to bed.
It’s so tough.
What I finally realized is the reality is it seems that there’s always a compromise somewhere with these portable saunas.
People have asked about the steam ones.
I just can’t stand the smell of the rubber tent.
You don’t even have to put a VOC meter in there.
You can already kind of tell.
I prefer the infrared over the steam.
Not that they don’t work.
It does work, but it’s not like a big steam sauna.
It’s basically the little hose that delivers the steam.
They all work.
It’s just to what degree do they work?
What am I used to and what am I comparing it to?
If I were to tell you that it’s great, to one person it might be awesome.
To another person they might be like, “Eh.”
If they’ve been in a bunch of saunas like I have, it’s probably not going to be that impressive.
So there’s that.
Personally, I would take the fabric infrared tent over the rubber steam sauna tent or vinyl, whatever it is.
I just can’t stand the smell of it.
That’s a personal preference.
Somebody else might trade lower EMF for higher VOCs or whatever, but that’s really up to you.
At the end of the day, none of these are really up to the certified sauna standards.
I can’t really add them to the list with good confidence, but I just don’t know what to do here.
I can’t just sweep it under the rug and say, “Well, this is the best one,” or “This is good enough,” or whatever.
So I guess, what do you guys prefer that I do?
Speaking specifically on the Therasage 360, it works pretty good.
I have one of the newer plus models.
I got one of the prototypes.
I did have a problem with it when I first put it together.
It had a faulty heater.
It was really easy to swap that out though.
Everything was plug and play.
They just sent me another one.
I feel confident that they would do that for anyone if they did have an issue.
It didn’t cost me anything.
It was very easy to do.
I could even make a video showing you how to do that.
At the same time, the EMF, it was okay.
It wasn’t as low as what you see on the certified sauna list.
Body voltage was in the 2,000 to 3,000 millivolts, which is 2 to 3 volts.
That’s much lower than, say, 20,000 to 25,000 millivolts in a lot of the Costco and Amazon and Wayfair saunas, which would be 25 to 30 volts of body voltage.
So much, much lower, but it’s not certified sauna list low.
It’s not under 200 millivolts or even under a thousand millivolts.
I don’t know what to do.
I’ve used it a bunch.
I feel confident that it is a good unit.
There’s one other thing that I don’t really care for, and that’s just personal preference.
When I unzip the panels, there’s some type of rigid paneling in there.
It kind of seems cheap to me.
I don’t want to bash the guys because I think in the portable sauna world, they’ve done a tremendous job.
They’ve also added some near-infrared lights to the model that I have, which I think are cool.
I hesitate to say that you’re gonna get red light therapy from that because I just don’t see how they could get enough wattage to the LEDs with a tiny little unit like that with a small power supply to really bring it into the therapeutic range.
So it kind of reminds me of the stand-up wooden sauna companies that say, “Hey, we’ve got chromotherapy lights in the ceiling and they do like red, green, blue, you know, all these different colors, yellow, and you can get your red light therapy from there,” which is completely inaccurate, totally false advertising.
They don’t have enough output to truly give you red light therapy to get the healing benefits, the deep skin penetration, and stuff like that.
So I can’t just sweep that under the rug.
I don’t know how to navigate this.
So I think the Therasage 360 is one of the best choices so far that I’ve tested.
And the only way that I know of, like this entire situation, the whole issue, is that there is no product in the portable sauna world that fits all those criteria.
Price, low VOC, low EMF, and you know, build quality, yada yada yada, what everybody’s looking for.
And so the only way that I know of to truly fix this is to have a sauna design myself, or basically me build one that meets all the criteria.
And I just don’t think I want to be in the physical product business really.
Like I just don’t really have much of a desire to do that.
And if I did, it would have to be something drastically different, right?
And so I’m running out of options.
I’m running out of, “Oh, let me go order that,” that people keep asking about.
So we can find out, you know, does it really live up to the claims?
So I mean, you know, there’s stuff about the Relax sauna that is okay, and there’s stuff about that that I don’t like.
It’s different than the Therisage.
It’s different than the Durham from Amazon.
It’s different than the Dome saunas that I’ve had.
It’s different than the steam, you know, portable vinyl tent or whatever.
It’s just, you know, what…
I’m kind of stuck here.
There aren’t really any other options on the market for me to test.
Some people have asked, “Well, why don’t I throw the sauna space thing into the mix?”
You guys already know what I think about that.
There’s no way in hell that I would ask my parents or grandparents or friends of family or even friends of mine to pay $3,000 for four bulbs, a stick frame, and a tent.
And so to me, it’s… it’s, you know, I’m just out of options.
So I know you guys have been waiting and waiting and waiting for a good portable sauna option, so help me help you.
What would you guys prefer that I do?
What’s the right thing to do in this situation?
Because I can’t, for the life of me, just pick one at random and say, “Hey guys, you know, this is the best portable sauna option,” and da-da-da, and ignore all the other stuff.
I know that’s what most people do, but that’s how we get into these situations where thousands of people buy a product and then it turns out not to be what they said it would be, right?
And then you’re really upset and da-da-da-da.
At the end of the day, I think in the portable sauna world, there’s gonna have to be a compromise.
So what do you guys think that compromise should be?
What do you, you know, just help me out here.
What should I do?
What makes the most sense?
So when I think about this, I can tell you what I’m thinking and then I’ll cut the video and you’re gonna, like, I would really like it if you guys would just go in the comments and tell me exactly what you think.
What would you like me to do?
What do you think most, makes the most ethical, I can’t even spit it out, most ethical sense here?
Because I’m struggling, I’m having a hard time.
And I’ve put this video off, I’ve put off making this video for like three weeks now, and I was even traveling from, you know, state to state and I could have shot it and I was like, “Man, let me try this again, let me try that again, da-da-da-da.”
And I’m just out of options.
So coming to you with this, what would you guys like the compromise to be?
Would you rather have a really expensive option that is low EMF, low VOC?
Would you rather compromise a little bit on the EMF and have, like, a borderline?
We’re talking, like, portable sauna in the $800 range, seven, eight hundred bucks.
Would you rather spend a little bit more, like, twelve hundred bucks and have something that is, you know, far superior to the $200 tent that you’re gonna get from Amazon, but not, you know, that much better than the $600 Durham or whatever it is from Amazon?
See, that’s the other thing.
It’s like, how do you gauge this stuff?
Because the prices for these things are all over the map.
I mean, you have the cheapest of the cheapest on Amazon for, like, a hundred and eighty bucks, right?
That was one of the first ones that I bought maybe two years ago.
Super high EMF.
So, if I were to recommend that based on, you know, there is no other good solution and I just tell people, “Get this cheap thing, use it for a while until you can save enough money to get a better sauna,” there’s gonna be people out there that are like, “Well, you’re, like, the low EMF guy and you test for all this stuff and now you’re telling us to buy this,” and they just don’t realize that I’m kind of at my wits end and it’s like, there aren’t any that are super, super low, so don’t spend a ton of money, use this one.
And then there’s the other camp where it’s like, “Well, you could have told us to spend a few hundred bucks more, we could have spent $800, be pretty low EMF, it’s a little bit better, but the actual zipper enclosure and all that stuff is pretty much the same.”
So, you know what I mean?
Like, I feel like I’m misleading some people and then, you know, doing a good job with others, but it’s, there’s no, there’s just no one-size-fits-all.
So, I’m rambling at this point, I just wanted to really explain what’s been happening.
I have been reviewing the Therasage 360, but we’ve got to have this talk and I want to see what you guys think.
I’m just gonna do whatever the consensus is because I don’t think there’s, like, a tried-and-true path through this thing, short of building one of these myself and designing it with a, with a manufacturing company to my specifications, which I’m just not in that business.
I don’t think that’s something that I want to do.
I would have to really, I’d have to really think long and hard about that.
But anyway, I hope you guys are doing well.
I hope this video, I hope you receive this video well, understand the intention behind it, understand, you know, I have been testing stuff, it’s just kind of stuck.
So, let me know what you think.
See you in tomorrow’s video.
