If you’ve been shopping for a sauna and keep hearing the term “low EMF”, this is the video you need to see.
Many infrared sauna companies are making claims that simply aren’t true—and today, I’m pulling back the curtain.
➡️ Most brands show you partial EMF readings (only magnetic OR electric fields)
➡️ They rely on third-party lab reports that test a disassembled heater—not the full sauna in real-world conditions
➡️ And when you call them out, they deflect by comparing EMF to everyday appliances like dishwashers… ignoring the fact that you’re sitting inside the sauna for hours every week.
This is false advertising, and it’s misleading thousands of people into paying thousands of dollars for something that doesn’t deliver what it promises.
In this video, I’ll explain:
✅ What EMF really means (and why most saunas don’t test it properly)
✅ Why sitting inside a high-EMF sauna is more dangerous than most people realize
✅ Which brands are actually low-EMF based on real, in-use testing
✅ How to avoid getting scammed by slick sales tactics and fake lab reports

So, let’s set the record straight. I want to read you something that I wrote in our Facebook community. There’s 30 some thousand people in there. I don’t even remember exactly how many.
Every single week, there’s somebody who is complaining that X salesperson said they had a low EMF sauna. They buy it. They undo the pallet. They make all this mess.
They get rid of the packing materials. It’s too late. They can’t return it. They go to spot check it themselves with an EMF meter, or they have a friend do it, or they borrow this, or they borrow that.
And it’s not what they were sold. The sauna industry is unregulated. I myself have fallen prey to a lot of this crazy nonsense over the years. I’ve also been part of the fear-mongering club, where I was misinformed.
I was taught by the wrong people about EMF, what to worry about, what this, that, and the other. There is a big problem here though. I’m going to read you something in a second. I’ve got a couple screens pulled up here.
We’ve got the YouTube comments on this screen. We’ve got the Facebook group here. I’m going to read you a couple things. But I want you to know, these guys or gals or salespeople who pull up a company’s website on the computer and make these videos sitting at a desk, they’re not doing anything.
They’re not using these products. Half of them are sitting in the product at the sauna company that they work for in their brand showroom using the thing. They don’t really have any other experience other than it’s a job for them. They’ve got a job at a sauna company doing retail or something.
That’s very different than using these things. Deferring you to some report or saying that a product has this and it’s the only place that you can get it. I keep saying this in all my videos, but whether you’re a Ford or a Chevy guy or gal, as much as you hate the other one, you don’t like
Is there only one option that can prevent you from walking to work? No, just like there’s not only one option that can get you sweating and get you Detoxed and get you health benefits help you get rid of heavy metals pesticides regulate, you know all types of health stuff, right?
Thousands of us Wouldn’t have gotten all these health benefits over the last 10 years if these products weren’t working And if there was only one of them That gave us all these health benefits was extending our lifespan and doing all these great things Don’t you think that we would all be using just that one by now because we wouldn’t getting we wouldn’t be getting any benefit from any of the others Right.
Does that make sense? Like just put away all this crap that people talk about all the time and just think for a second Because half of this stuff that you see in the industry is nonsense Navigating it is insane And I know better than anyone Because I have taken these things apart and used them and tested them and I’m sitting inside of it Wondering why it’s not like they told me it was and it’s kind of like then I become the most hated sauna guy or whatever You know because I don’t like X’s, you know Brand or model or I don’t agree with however, they describe it or I don’t think it does this and that’s something that they really It’s like well, this is my opinion this is what I think about this stuff Here I am sitting in it.
I’m not just typing away on the computer, right? I’m standing in a facility that we built with our own two hands Meanwhile, you know some guys mad at me because he makes screen recording videos sitting at a computer pulling up a company’s website Telling you why this this and this is you know a certain way Come on, man.
It’s it’s night and day It would be like just because you don’t like X brand of car you should walk to work instead of settle for something else Putting people in that position is is not you know, the way to go. I don’t like it. I don’t stand for
where I’ve been taken advantage of many times. I’ve been talked into God knows how many health and wellness products that didn’t live up to the claims. All the industry is unregulated, so nothing you can do about it. It’s false marketing, product not delivered is advertised.
These are actually real issues, but no one seems to be doing anything about it yet. But I think their day of reckoning is coming. So let me read you this real quick. I wanna talk about the lie about low EMF saunas and what sauna companies don’t want you to know, right?
And they’ll just say that, oh, so-and-so works for so-where, you know, such and such a company, or they’re just saying that because of this and da-da-da. Meanwhile, it’s just a diversion. They’re not actually providing the product that they’re selling you in the way that they sold it to you, right?
That’s an issue, that’s a problem. So it starts out with this. And this is me, right? You’re being lied to, right?
Not by some random website, but by companies selling you low EMF saunas that aren’t low EMF at all. They show you a meter, they throw out a lab report, but what they’re not telling you, what they’re deliberately hiding, is that you’re being exposed to way more EMFs than you think, right?
Whether or not that’s harmful for you and your health condition, that’s for you to decide. I’m not a doctor, this isn’t medical advice. I’m not here citing all the studies that show if you live under ultra-high voltage power lines around the corner from a substation, that supply extra power to a suburb or something, that children have a much higher occurrence of leukemia and correlating that together.
That’s not what we’re talking about at all. You can go look up that stuff yourself. The choice on whether or not you get a low EMF sauna and stuff, that’s for you to decide. I’m not here to push you toward or away from any particular thing.
But you thinking that you’re getting something because you’ve been deliberately misinformed from some sauna company or a.
Maybe it’s not the company, maybe they make a good product, but it’s misrepresented by the people who sell it, right? People who work at a call center, is what I’m talking about. So they show you this meter, they throw out a lab report, but what they’re not telling you, what they’re deliberately hiding is that you’re being exposed to way more EMFs than you think.
So if that’s something that’s important to you, probably a good idea to have a better understanding of what you’re looking at, right? I’m a leukemia survivor, so what’s right for me and my stringent criteria may not be applicable to you. That’s completely okay. We don’t, I don’t have to make my standards yours, we don’t have to do any of that, but what I will do is show you what I found when checking these things over the years, and why and how I personally was manipulated by companies that do various things like this, or being told, oh, there’s this level of it in there, and then I check it and it’s nowhere close to being the same.
It’s like, well, did you see our third party report before you bought it? I’m like, well, yeah, but there was a picture of a probe in front of a heater hanging from a chain in a laboratory. There was only one of them though. How many heaters do you have in your sauna?
Well, there’s eight. So should I take the value that you present in the report and multiply it times eight to get what my body is actually subjected to? Well, no, you know, it doesn’t work like da, da, da, da. It’s like, okay, well, that would kind of explain why I’m not getting the same value in my test that you’re saying your million dollar lab is producing, right, and it’s verified, and I have no idea what I’m doing, right?
When in fact, you are actually the one that’s selling a product not as advertised. You are the one that’s engaging in false marketing. I’m not manufacturing this thing. It’s not my job to make sure that your quality control meets a certain standard.
or upholds whatever you say on your page before I buy the damn thing. In fact, you told me, people that work for your company told me that it was gonna be a certain way, now it’s not. So where are we at with this, right? But now all of a sudden, Matt’s the bad guy because he uncovers this and you back him into a corner or you put a little pressure on him and say, hey, you told me it was this way, I gave you thousands of dollars and now it’s not.
Well, the WHO hasn’t officially released a warning and OSHA requirements for electrical rooms for employees are like 10,000 millivolts or milligauss. And it’s like, the guy goes in there to replace a circuit breaker once a year. His exposure limit is measured in minutes for the year. That’s not a safety standard to be applied to something else.
That’s kind of like these clowns that take low-level laser therapy from PubMed studies and then say that you’re gonna have a quartz halogen patio heater infrared emitter in a sauna give you red light therapy, which is the farthest thing from the truth. The wavelength doesn’t exist in that piece of equipment that you have placed in the sauna.
So telling someone that they’re gonna get photobiomodulation is clinically insane because the equipment that you’ve outfitted the sauna with can’t produce the wavelength that does that at all, right? So there’s all these things going on that people aren’t necessarily catching. Like you’re none the wiser. You’re like, oh, I think I have the greatest thing.
You know, the guy said it was, no, no. And the problem is you’re never gonna know for like 10 years. Then you’re gonna wake up one day and be like, how come people are getting all these great benefits from this therapy? My sauna is supposed to have that.
And then you’re like, oh, because it doesn’t. Then you’re gonna wonder where that 10 years went. It’s like, anyway. So what these guys are deliberately hiding.
is that you’re being exposed to more EMFs than you think. And in this video, I’m gonna show you how they trick you, why it matters, and how to protect yourself before it’s too late. So first, let’s get this straight. EMF stands for electromagnetic fields.
See what I did there? Electromagnetic fields, plural. More than one thing. But most sauna companies, they only show you one piece to the puzzle that actually exists in their product.
So maybe it’s a magnetic field, with a cheap gauss meter that doesn’t have great sensitivity. So if they’re a couple inches away from the panel, where your back is actually closer than, it looks okay, right? On a picture or something. Maybe it’s an electric field meeting or a reading.
Maybe it’s not usually both together back to back, just standing up with a little cell phone video ever, right? Because then that would expose exactly what it is. But tell me this, how can a company that employs sauna salespeople and tout to have certain low EMF, not afford to have, where is it?
$160 meter that I could just literally stand up from here, walk over to that sauna, shoot you a 30 second little clip and text it to you and show you the electric and magnetic fields, which make up a lot of the EMF they talk about, right? Because that would immediately expose them.
They don’t wanna do that. And that is your last line of defense before you buy something. Hey, do you have one of these demos in your office where you work? Before I place my order, do you have one of these?
Would it be possible to FaceTime you real quick? Okay, do you guys have an EMF meter? Can you just show me the electric and magnetic fields when you just stick it right up next to the backrest? Okay, thank you.
If they’re unwilling to do that, then why? What is there to hide? If the product is good, that’s my thing. That’s where I come from in the reviews.
So like a company can hate me, a person can hate me, a person cannot agree with me. But I mean, I’m literally standing there with the equipment asking myself, why isn’t it like what they told me it was like? What do you want me to do? Act like it’s not there?
You want me to risk my life with a second thing of leukemia just because I want to save a couple thousand dollars and not get something that meets my standards? Not going to happen. Not going to happen. Oh, you want to like pay me just to sweep this under the rug and act like, and put myself in harm’s way?
Are you absolutely insane? You think I want to go to the hospital five days a week for a year again? Or even consider doing something that would make that possible? Like, create that circumstance again?
I’m not saying that EMFs caused my leukemia or anything else. I’m saying I choose to be careful about the stuff that I use on a consistent basis. I’ll go test a super high EMF sauna for a review or to do an unboxing or just to try something for the first time and see.
I’m not worried about a couple of times. But I’m not going to use it three or four times a week for the next 15 or 20 years. I don’t care how much money it saves me. There’s no savings on the planet that is worth that.
Period. Right? Not going to happen. Not for me.
You go do it. Hey, you want to roll the dice on something? Please be my guest, but don’t ask me to follow you into the river. I just don’t want to.
So EMF is plural. It stands for more than one thing, right? Most sauna companies only showing you one piece of the puzzle. And never in the real environment, usually, that they’re actually using it in.
They’ll be funny with it. They’ll come in and do a little sweep, but they know exactly where the hotspots are and they stay away from those. So because the moment you assemble the unit, you add power and you sit down. You actually start using it.
The real EMF exposure at point-of-body contact starts to show itself. In the third-party lab tests, they show you out the window. It’s not even on the actual sauna that you’re buying with all the heaters in it. It’s where you sit.
You stick a probe in the middle of a sauna two feet away from all the heaters. That’s not where you sit.
sit. That’s not the seated body position. The fact that I even have to explain this is nuts. It really is.
But I see how this stuff gets twisted and everyone’s just like, oh yeah, people on the internet, you know, they just work for so-and-so or they get kickbacks from here, you know, to tell you that it’s this way and that those other ones suck or they’re super high EMF.
And it’s like, well, wait a second. If the product is so good and it’s not an issue, why don’t you just show us that it’s not an issue? There’s no reason for anyone to say anything. You could just demonstrate it real quick for us.
And then if I make a mistake or if I say something is wrong or I say Asana is a piece of shit or there’s something, you know, troublesome and I’m wrong, I will be happy to correct myself. I will be happy to issue an apology to you. I would love it actually.
Why? Just like I told you, as a leukemia survivor, I want good shit in my house. I want good, clean products. I want good, clean health and wellness stuff.
The more companies that are producing better stuff, it’s better for all of us because it increases the standard across the board in the industry and everyone follows suit. So we all get better stuff. The more saunas and stuff, the more the health and wellness industry pays attention to these things, the more the sub industries follow suit.
They start making more things and have attention to detail. We all get better products. Like it’s a win, win, win, win, win, right? So I think people miss that.
I think, I think they’re short sighted on a lot of that stuff. They get talked into things because weird people on social media will just come up with anything to like cover their tracks or something. They’re just trying to sell you stuff at the end of the day.
Nine times out of 10, anyone who says something like that literally like works at a store or something selling this crap. I don’t get it. But, um, you know, third party labs, they show you it’s, it’s, it’s not even the actual, actual.
sauna that you’re buying, it’s a disassembled heater tested in isolation under clean lab power, right? Not real life wiring, not a real home circuit, not full body immersion, not a fully assembled sauna in your home, right? So just pause and imagine for a second. You go to a dealership, they show you test results on a car engine sitting on a table.
Not in the car, not running, right? Then they charge you thousands of dollars extra for a quiet ride or a low emissions based on that test that they show you, like on a testing bench, right? And when you drive it, the thing’s rattling, spewing fumes, has weird noises.
Would you accept that? No. So why are people still falling for this in the sauna world? If somebody said that Ford’s terrible and you could only buy a Chevy, but you hate Chevy, would you rather walk to work or make a compromise and do something else?
Same thing with the sauna. Here’s the dirty secret of the sauna industry too. It’s completely unregulated, right? That means companies can say low EMF on the website, but it doesn’t really mean anything.
What’s low EMF? Is that 10,000 millivolts? Is it 5,000 millivolts? Well, how are we arguing?
You’re gonna say that’s low to you and not low to me or vice versa, right? But you’re just assuming that we think there’s a universal standard. There’s not, right? So we want as close to nothing as possible at point of body contact.
Why? Because that’s what actually matters. That’s where you’re sitting. So that means, you know, companies can say low EMF on their website.
Their saunas can pump out higher EMFs than your microwave or another appliance. And when you catch them, they pull the bait and switch. Well, everything in your house is high EMF. Your phone, your appliances.
Hell, measure this or measure that. But let’s break that illusion right now. Like I said before, I’ll say it again and again and again. You don’t sit inside your dishwasher for 45 minutes, three, four nights a week, do you?
You don’t.
all into your blender three times a week for the next 15 or 20 years. This is about exposure limit, chronic exposure, and people selling you stuff where your exposure limit is a lot higher than other things. It’s about how many hours per year you’re absorbing electromagnetic, magnetic, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, electromagnetic radiation into your body while trying to heal.
And I think important, you know, things to keep in mind is switching from parasympathetic to sympathetic state. Is it gonna kill you to have some EMF? No. Should you not use a sauna if you can’t get like some top of the line thing?
No, but that’s not what this video is about. This isn’t about like shoving you toward or away from anything. It’s about giving you the proper education so that you can evaluate what you’re spending your money on. Because a lot of people are spending their money on stuff and not getting what they think they’re getting.
So you’re wasting it, right? So, and these companies, they know it. They know you’re sitting directly on those heaters. They know that you’re using this for detox, immune support, cancer recovery, chemical sensitivity.
And they use that emotional urgency to manipulate you with a report that doesn’t reflect reality or just tell you something to sell you something. So you deserve to know the truth. You deserve to have a company or have a sauna that’s clean, safe, performs as advertised, right? You deserve, if a company needs to remove a heater from a sauna, just to test it out of context to generate some pretty marketing report that a call center employee can use to manipulate you and use that number to sell you something, something else entirely, really.
It’s not even the same experience that you’ll have. That’s not just marketing, that’s deception. And when you feel that tightness in your gut, you know, like something’s not right, you’re probably picking up on the truth they don’t want you to see. Trust that feeling.
It’s trying to protect you, right? You can sense it. You can sense when somebody is not being genuine and just wants to like get you to buy something today, rush you into something. And there are companies doing it right.
I’ve personally tested dozens. Some of them are great. Some of them are mediocre and some of them are terrible. If you want a true low EMF sauna with real readings,
in fully assembled units, if you want true transparency, not just cherry-picked numbers on a PDF, I recommend you take a look at some of my other videos where we actually test them in real time. I don’t really want to mention any brands in this video. It’s not about one better than the other.
These brands speak for themselves. They deliver. When you check them, there’s no nonsense. And when you use a FLIR gun, a gauss meter, when you check body voltage as a secondary measurement, when you check for VOCs, you see the difference.
Not just on paper, but there’s definitely a difference in real-time, real-world seat-of-the-pants experience. If you’re shopping for a sauna or if this is your first time, I’ve got 700 YouTube videos, a lot of information. Don’t fall for the low EMF sales pitch unless you’ve seen the actual in-use readings.
If you’re ready to get serious about your health, detox, long-term recovery, use the link below. Check out certifiedsaunas.com. I’ve got a bunch of stuff on there. Go to the Facebook group.
It’s all free. Facebook.com forward slash certified sauna community, I believe. I can help you compare units, match you with the right model, make sure you don’t get tricked into fake science, dressed up in marketing. You deserve the truth, and now you have it at your fingertips.
Don’t make the same mistakes we did 10 years ago. It’s a lot easier. See you in the next one.
