What’s going on guys?

Long time no see for an update like this.

If you don’t know, about two years ago, actually maybe two and a half years ago, I didn’t live here with an awesome office like this.

I think it was still when I lived in the tree house.

If you don’t know, I moved to a 500 square foot tree house to reduce expenses to start a lifestyle blog and try to create a lifestyle business that I could live off of from anywhere in the world.

Long story short, the 500 square foot tree house that I moved to had these skylights right over the bed.

It was basically a studio apartment.

I’ll see if I can put something on the screen right here to show you what it was like or maybe I’ll just upload a video from when I used to live there.

Basically, over the bed, there was two skylights and there was just a partition wall between the living room and the rest of the place or else it would have just been a studio.

It was basically a one bedroom.

I struggled and struggled and struggled and struggled to get a good night’s sleep.

I started testing sleeping masks.

You can go on YouTube and you can see the top 10 best sleeping masks compared.

I’ve got to tell you that things have changed in the last two years.

I finally, finally have some winners.

Now, I have to be brutally honest with you here.

Some sleeping mask companies have reached out to me.

They’ve tried to give me free sleeping masks.

There’s all kinds of companies from China that have tried to get me to promote their products and this, that, and the other.

I just can’t do it.

They’re basically just rehashed versions of whatever this is, which is like the number one seller that you see on Amazon.

This mask is okay, but it leaks around the bridge of the nose.

Even the ones with the little nose flares right here where it tries to match the contour.

I’m going to do my best to try to show you what I’m talking about.

I don’t know if this will make sense because I’m going to put this damn thing on and then I’m going to try to get close to the camera to show you, but I can’t really see where I am.

You know what I’m saying?

Basically, right here I can see the lens of the camera right now.

What that translates to is what we all hate.

You’re laying in bed and either you don’t have window treatments or you’re in a hotel if you travel or whatever.

Basically, there’s stray light that is either interrupting your sleep, interrupting your naps, interrupting your meditations.

I use different masks now for different things and I know that all of you guys out there are in different situations.

Some of you travel for work and you just don’t get a good night’s sleep in a hotel.

Some of you move to a studio apartment like I did and you have no control over really bright moonlights or the sun rising earlier if you’re on a schedule where you’re not an early riser basically.

All these different things.

What I’ve found is that most of the top sellers and stuff on Amazon aren’t necessarily that great.

They’re okay if you just want to get by, but like this, this is not my favorite mask.

I can’t sleep with this mask.

In fact, I have trouble sleeping all night long with any one mask.

I think I’m just a person that doesn’t like them on my head.

However, I have found a few that are suitable.

Basically, out of testing, I don’t know, 13 masks or so over the last two years, I’ve found three that are the best sleeping masks on the planet.

Now, I’m going to categorize them for different things.

Whether you’re a traveling business person, a meditator, or you just want to do afternoon naps or things like that, I’ve got different masks here for different things.

Let’s start from the top.

The trusty Mindfold.

Now this is a mask that was introduced to me for doing binaural beat meditations, doing relaxation stuff, doing naps in the afternoons.

However, as you can see, it has a very rigid face.

This is not what I would consider a good choice for a sleeping mask.

The reason why is when you put this on your head, and I’ve had two years to figure this out, this is not something where I’ve just been testing these for a couple of weeks.

I just forgot to make an update video.

People have asked, and it’s about time I make some updates because I’ve got the right stuff.

Maybe that’ll be the thumbnail for the YouTube video.

With this mask, when you put it on, and this is not really a sleeping mask.

This is what I would consider the best meditation mask.

If you’re going to be in a recliner and you’re going to be on your back, this is a great fit because of the eye socket foam cutouts.

This is really, really, really, really, really soft.

What it allows you to do is tighten up the tension on the band so that you get zero light leakage.

Now, depending on the shape of your nose, there can be a tiny bit if you have super bright lights right here on the bridge.

This works really, really, really good for naps, meditations, anything where you’re going to be laying back in a chair.

Here’s where it falls short.

You put this on, and let me see where I’m at with the camera so that I’ll be able to show you.

Basically, you put this on and you’re sleeping, and you just happen to roll over onto the side of the pillow.

That’s where things start to go south.

Because this is a hard surface front right here, it begins to bend and crinkle almost immediately, which A, is uncomfortable as hell, and B, starts to let in light right away.

I know this is a very unusual mask, and only certain people will want this, but I’m going to put links to all this stuff in the YouTube description.

These are readily available.

I’ve bought multiple versions of these, but I would say that this Mindfold is the number one napping and meditation mask that you can buy on the market today.

I have used this for a year and a half.

I think this might be my second one.

Over time, if you travel with it, after a while, the foam will come unglued from the plastic piece, but this is perfect to take on a plane.

It makes the stewardess look at you funny when they walk by, and you’ve got giant noise-canceling headphones on, and then you look like this.

It doesn’t necessarily make you seem like a terrorist, but it definitely makes you seem pretty freaking weird.

That would be excellent for that category.

Napping and meditation, this is the best one.

Like I say, I really don’t like these too much.

They’re comfortable.

You can put them on your head.

You can be a side sleeper.

You can do whatever.

You can smash them, but to me, there’s just way too much light leakage.

Even with it here and me pushing it down, I’ve got light leakage on the corners.

It doesn’t fit flush to the face, and the eye cavities really aren’t …

There are so many different variations of this on Amazon and everywhere else because a lot of Chinese companies just rebrand this stuff, and there are so many brands.

These things have thousands of reviews, five-star reviews on Amazon.

I’m not sure if the people buying them just haven’t used anything better or what, but to me, these suck.

This one is called …

I don’t even know what it’s called, but basically, you can tell by the way that it looks.

If they look like this, it’s not going to be that great.

It’s better than nothing because you can just fold it up, and you can put it in your pocket, or you can put it in a carry-on bag or something.

If this is all you have, you can get one for like 12 bucks, but the last mask that I’m going to show you blows this out of the water.

Let’s move on.

This is something that I’ve had a really hard time with.

This is …

What the heck is it called?

The Master Sleep Ultimate.

There’s different versions of this.

This one basically has covers for your ears, which has a benefit to it because you can kind of muffle sound in a way, which is really, really nice.

I love the fact that it wraps all the way around the head, and it doesn’t have a very thick profile in the back so that when you lay your head on a pillow, you don’t really feel it too much, which is great.

It has a wide band all the way around.

The profile of it spreads out.

When a thin band digs into the side of your head or your ears when it’s on a pillow …

Gosh, I sound like a crazy person.

I know way too much about this stuff.

As you can tell, I’ve struggled with this a lot in many different ways.

The way that it distributes …

The way that it fits and distributes everything is very even.

You can lay on a side pillow.

You can do this and that.

It’s extremely comfortable.

If there was one mask that I could probably use to sleep with all night long and turn on my side and turn back, it’s this one.

Now, this is not my favorite sleeping mask, and I cannot wear this mask to sleep with.

I’m going to tell you why.

There’s two things that this mask doesn’t do well for me.

The people that own this company are great.

They reached out to me when they saw my first YouTube video two years ago.

They offered to send me a replacement unit and talked to me about how best to use it.

They also recommend that when you adjust it slightly, pull it either back or up, and that will adjust the way that it sits on the face.

Very, very useful tips.

Very nice people.

Very good quality product.

They actually make these, so I would definitely recommend working with this company.

Again, there will be a YouTube link in the description to it.

Now, there’s two reasons why this doesn’t work very well for me for sleeping.

Number one, I guess it’s just the profile of my face or whatever.

It doesn’t matter how I adjust this.

There’s a little bit of light leakage right here.

Everything else is completely blacked out, but right here, it just seeps through.

It doesn’t seem to matter what I do.

I can’t seem to get that to go away.

If that’s one of your pet peeves, keep that in mind.

For me, the real reason that I cannot wear this for sleeping is because it doesn’t have eye cavities.

I am a person that cannot have things touching my eyelashes during REM sleep.

Now, they say that you get used to this and that can actually deepen your REM sleep or people use it for lucid dreaming, but personally, it just wrecks my sleep.

When I feel, basically, I don’t know how to show this to you, but when I feel my eyelids flickering on the back of this because they fit flush on your eyelids, there are no cavities.

There’s no cutouts for your eyelids to be able to blink or for your eyes to move when you’re in deep sleep.

When I feel that, it wakes me up.

For that reason, I’m out.

No, it’s a great mask.

It’s probably the best quality mask out of everything on the market.

It’s just a different style.

I like stuff that’s geared toward not having anything touching your eyelids.

I don’t want my eyelashes to bump into anything.

Just having this on the face like that doesn’t work for me.

It can work great on a plane or for short-term stuff.

It folds really flat.

It’s very easy to travel with.

You could shove it in your pocket if you needed to.

Excellent, excellent build quality.

It’s probably the best construction of any mask on the planet.

It is silk.

It feels really good.

It’s just not for me.

If you’re a person that has to have eye cavities, but there’s tons of people out there.

Part of the reason to make this video is that what I like isn’t necessarily the best thing for everybody.

There’s tons of people out there that love a mask that has a very wide profile like this and that gently touches the eyes like this.

They find it soothing.

If that’s you, this is the mask.

The link will be in the YouTube description to this exact model.

Don’t buy a knockoff one of these.

Click the link.

Follow to the actual brand because like I said, there’s 15,000 of these on Amazon.

There’s knocks off of these.

There’s knockoff of these.

There’s knockoff of everything.

There is a difference in quality.

That’s my take on that one.

Now let’s move to my favorite mask of the bunch.

Actually, my favorite mask out of every mask that I’ve ever tested, ever.

This mask is not made by a mainstream company.

I’m not trying to be facetious here, but it has a, if you can even see it, it has a name on it that I can’t even pronounce if I tried, let alone remember.

I don’t know how to tell you what brand this is.

I only know how to tell you where to get it.

The first link in the YouTube description is going to be to this sleeping mask, which is my absolute favorite sleeping mask of all time.

It does everything very, very well.

It has a low profile strap.

The Velcro, when it’s doubled up, if you have a small head and it’s doubled up a lot, it’s a little thick, so it depends on how you sleep.

You can feel it some, but it’s very soft front and back.

It has this, this is what makes it so good.

It has this, let me try to focus the camera on it.

It has this little flap here, which is an additional light protector on the nose bridge or light blocker, I should say.

This is extremely, extremely good.

It has the eye cavities, so your eyes are not touching anything.

It is very, very, very comfortable.

This is the mask that I use for naps, meditations, on planes now.

I don’t sleep with it because I can’t seem to sleep with any mask and be able to roll around or toss and turn and have it stay in position.

The only one that will do that is this one, and I just can’t have anything on the backs of my eyelids, like I said.

When you put this mask on, this mask fits exceptionally well.

It’s got a thin profile strap.

Everything is very soft front and back.

That additional flap there keeps all the light out of your nose or from coming in under the bridge of your nose.

Whether you’re laying back, whether you’re laying on your side.

It does have some side compression to it.

It will disform like they all do if you’re a side sleeper.

If you have really bright lights in the room or there’s LEDs that you haven’t blacked out, you can obviously see that I’m a blackout enthusiast sleeper.

I’m one of the people that freaks out if there’s the little blue lights that are beaming at you from the cable box or something like that.

I’m over there putting black electrical tape on them because I can’t sleep.

Once you get used to sleeping in an environment that is super dark, and this is the test if you guys don’t know already.

If you can put your hand out in front of your face, like when I’m at home, my room is completely blacked out.

If I can put my hand in front of my face and you can’t see anything, you don’t really need to wear a sleeping mask unless you just like the feel of it.

Your sleep is going to be deeper once your body gets used to that.

You’ll also wake up naturally when the sun comes up as you should, but it won’t be that blinding, that harshness.

It’ll be a gentle little glow that you can see from behind the blackout curtains if the room is done correctly.

Basically, when you wear this, if you are a side sleeper, it is going to deform a little bit and you have a little bit of light leakage here, but this extra flap helps with that more than any other sleeping mask that I’ve found.

Now again, I can’t even remember where I read about this that even made me buy it because when you see it from the back, aside from this piece here on the nose bridge, it looks similar to other ones that are available online.

God knows why they didn’t come up with a name that I could actually…

Wengsono?

I don’t know.

It’ll be the first link in the YouTube description.

This is the best sleeping mask that you can buy.

I have tried really expensive ones.

I’ve tried really cheap ones.

This one works amazingly well.

I wish I could remember where I read about this because I read about this somewhere a long time ago.

I’ve had this for at least six months now.

I’ve used it for just about everything.

This is my go-to mask for naps or binaural beat meditations and things like that.

You can’t go wrong with this.

Hope you guys enjoyed the video.

We’ll see you…
