Looking for a small infrared sauna that will fit well in apartments and small spaces? Dome saunas, portable saunas, 1 person saunas will work for a lot of applications.

Alright, today’s infrared sauna question is, “Need small infrared sauna for home?”
That’s just the email title, I don’t know.
It says, “Hi Matt, I’m limited on space here.
I need something for my apartment.
I know you don’t really care for the portable saunas.
I saw your test videos of the dome saunas and they didn’t test well, but it was also eye opening to see a person of your size get in and out of one, and that’s probably not something I want to do for a couple thousand dollars.”
She says, “Going to move to a house in the next eight months.
Really need a sauna now though.
What to do?”
Um, okay.
“I wish you would have given me one more piece.”
One more piece.
Guys, when you send in your questions, try to be as specific as possible to your situation because you know, I might make a recommendation in one video for somebody, and if it’s along the same lines as what you need, that’s fine.
You’ll get guided toward the right model for you.
But one thing that I’m curious about based on what you said is, is there going to be anybody else that uses it besides you?
Because what I would say now is that you’re right.
I really don’t like the portable saunas just because I don’t fit well in them.
Generally they’re high EMF, even though they’re marketed as low EMF.
But there are several one person saunas which have a 36 by 36 inch square footprint that are pretty small or even smaller than that, that would fit in your apartment and they’re still going to be nice and serve you well once you move to your house.
However, they are small.
So if you plan to want to use that with one of your children or a spouse or anyone else, once you do move to the house, you definitely want a two person or larger.
For me personally, I’m about six feet tall.
Right now I’m about 215 pounds on broad shoulders.
I’m in a two person sauna right now.
I use it by myself, but I also, it’s big enough for another person to be in here or to have the camera gear in here and make these videos for you guys.
And there’s enough room for me to turn sideways or move any which way.
In a one person sauna, it’s going to be a complete foot narrower on the width.
So if you’re a taller person, you didn’t put your height in here, but if you’re a taller person and you like to turn sideways, or if you’re a female that likes to put their legs up, you definitely would probably appreciate a two person.
We’re not talking about a huge difference, probably like anywhere from six to $800 in price difference.
However, if it’s just you, and I’m going overboard with this, trying to make, you know, just considering all your options and your potential situation.
The thing that I would do if it’s just you is I would get a one person radiant health.
That’ll keep you under the 36 by 36 inch footprint.
It’ll be really, it’ll be well built.
It’s going to work really well.
The heaters are really close to your body.
It’s a small cubic footage, so it’s going to heat up fast.
You’ll get a good sweat out of that.
And it’s a really nice sauna, so you only have to buy it one time.
I know that’s probably not what you’re looking to hear.
The one thing that everyone is looking for right now when they look for small saunas, especially for apartments, is portables.
And I just haven’t come across a portable that has, you know, super low EMF.
I haven’t come across a portable that mitigates electric fields.
You can go on YouTube and search for my, what’s that company’s name?
It’s called Durherm Portable Sauna and just put in EMF review.
Durherm EMF Portable Sauna Review or something like that.
You’ll see my video from like two years ago.
It’s one of the first saunas that I bought because I wasn’t convinced that I needed to spend the money on one of these big wooden saunas.
And that sauna is one of the lower, I don’t want to call it a low EMF portable sauna because it is not, but it’s one of the lower if you have to compromise and you have to buy something.
I would check out that one.
There are some people that I’ve done like a phone consultation with and they’re like, “Look, I’m in an apartment.
I need this thing like next week.
We’ll buy something else in a year.
I’m willing to spend $500 or $600 now and just use one of these little tents.”
And I’m very upfront with them and they understand.
They say, “I know that you don’t like the sauna tents.
You say they’re very uncomfortable.
You can’t stay in there very long.
You have to crouch down and do all this stuff,” which is all true and I just want to be transparent with people.
And even the portable saunas that I have tested, pretty much all of them have EMF levels of over 8 to 10 milligauss.
Some of them like the Durherm one, I wasn’t even testing for electric fields back then so I don’t recall what the electric field measurement or the body voltage would be.
But like I said, some people are in a position where they don’t have any other choice and they want something versus nothing now and they’re willing to sacrifice both a little higher EMF than they’d like to see and a little bit of money because if you spend $500, $600 and you use that thing for a year, then you move to the house and you spend $3,000 or $4,000 to get your long-term sauna that you’ll never have to buy again.
Maybe you want to do the tent for the next 7 or 8 months and then maybe you want to get a two-person sauna that has a little bit more room when you move into the house so that you actually can have that much space to accommodate it.
Sorry, let me just open the door here.
I’m getting a little overheated.
I should have kept the temperature a little bit lower.
Whenever I do videos and start getting really hot, I’m constantly wiping my face and trying to pay attention to what to say to you guys and look at the screen without dripping sweat all over it.
It can be a little bit of a challenge, but that’s what I would recommend.
If you’re okay with having the small one long-term, I would definitely recommend you take a look at the one-person Radiant Health.
There should be good options in one-person models in all the certified saunas.
So if you go to certifiedsaunas.com or you go to cleverleverage.com and you search for infrared sauna reviews, you’ll see all the reviews for saunas that I do not recommend and the ones you want to avoid.
But you’ll also see the list of certified saunas if you Google it, and those are the best saunas for 2019 and beyond.
You’ll see the sauna of the year in there, which is the one that I’m sitting in right now.
You can get a smaller one-person version of this for, I think, just under $3,000.
I think like $2,900 or something.
There may be shipping charges in there depending on where you live.
Don’t quote me on out-the-door costs.
That comes from Canada, so if there’s sales tax or anything like that, that would affect the out-the-door price.
But in that range, plus or minus a couple hundred bucks.
And that would serve you really well.
I’ve been very happy with this.
It’s by far the best sauna of the year for 2019.
That’s what I would recommend.
So if there’s something that you’ve uncovered in your research that you forgot to mention in your question, just leave it in the comments and I’ll get it in tomorrow’s video.
Have a great day guys.
