My doctor has me using a ceramic sauna in their office, but the thing is ancient. I wanted to get a more modern carbon one like a Radiant or Clearlight, but they are insisting on the same style for the duration of my treatment. Do you really think I need it, or will be any different whether ceramic or carbon? Just not sure what to get, but can’t keep going to the sauna place to rent sessions. I’ll own a sauna in no time if I buy one instead of renting. Thank you!

Hi Matt, what is the best ceramic infrared sauna that I can get in 2019?
My doctor has me using a ceramic sauna in their office, but the thing is ancient.
I wanted to get a more modern one, a more modern carbon one like a radiant or clear light like you have listed, but they are insisting on the same style for the duration of my treatment.
Do you really think I need it or will it be any different whether ceramic or carbon?
Just not sure what to get but can’t keep going to the sauna place to rent sessions.
I’ll own a sauna in no time if I buy one instead of renting.
Thank you.
Well the first part of your question is what is the best ceramic sauna?
The best ceramic sauna is the high tech health.
Most ceramic saunas have electric fields mitigated a little bit, but you can’t mitigate magnetic fields from a ceramic sauna in the same way because you can’t shield magnetic fields with a grounded Faraday cage like a heat shield.
So it’s easy to get rid of the electric fields in a ceramic sauna, it’s almost impossible to get rid of magnetic fields.
The only way they are able to do it is to move the heaters away from you and create distance or space.
However if you are still in close proximity to that, they will still have higher body voltage.
So something like a Thera sauna which is a ceramic sauna does have electric fields mitigated, but it still has 10 mG magnetic fields.
So if you are in a one or two person Thera sauna, you are going to have body voltage of 3-4,000 mV.
If you were to compare that to a high tech health ceramic sauna, which is what I would recommend if you have to go the ceramic sauna route, if you go to the list of certified saunas, certifiedsaunas.com website is not done yet, but I have a blog post called the list of certified saunas, the three best saunas for 2019.
The sauna of the year is on there, the one that tested the absolute lowest.
And also discount codes for all Clever Leverage readers, usually save three to five hundred bucks off your sauna.
But anyway, the high tech health, if you were to compare that to a Thera sauna, the front heaters have about 6 mG magnetic fields, but the back heaters is much lower and electric fields are mitigated and body voltage of about 200 mV.
So that’s less than like 20 times what you’d find, 15 times what you’d find in a Thera sauna.
And lower magnetic fields, less electric fields, etc.
So the best ceramic sauna I would say is the high tech health from the ones that I’ve tested.
And I also raised the EMF standards for 2019.
So saunas in the past that were kind of on the borderline, they don’t qualify anymore.
And I tighten those recommendations up.
So if anybody buys a sauna from the certified sauna list, you don’t have to worry about EMFs at all.
They’re completely vetted by me.
Now the second part of your question I saved until last.
I don’t know how to answer it.
I don’t want to go against what your doctor is saying.
This is why I make sure that we have both carbon and ceramic saunas on the certified sauna list.
We’ve got to have an option for both.
Do I really think you need it or will your treatments be any different whether it’s ceramic or carbon?
In my opinion, no, because the intent is to get you sweating.
As long as it’s an ultra low EMF sauna from the certified saunas list, you’ll be fine.
But again, I don’t want to create, this is very common, I don’t want to create friction with your doctor or your treatment.
Both of them will work.
And I believe both of them will work equally well.
I have both of them in the other room.
As a general rule, I could use either one of them and have a great sweat and a good session.
So it just comes down to what you like.
As a general rule, the high tech health is quite a bit more expensive than a radiant health and you can get a detox sweat in both.
I would put the Clearlight Premier somewhere in the middle as far as price.
I’m not sure if you’re asking because of price or just because you like the look or the feel of one of the others.
But you are right.
Buying a sauna for your house, you will own it in less than two years.
Actually it depends on what city you’re in.
Sometimes it can be $100, $80 a session to rent sauna time at like a float tank place where I was going or whatever.
They give you a discount if you buy them in blocks of 10 or 20, but that’s like $300 to $500 at a time.
And so, yeah, in a matter of months, you’ll own the sauna compared to renting them.
So I totally agree with you there.
Definitely buy one for the house if you’re doing a detox protocol and you’re going to have extended usage.
I hope that helps you.
If you have any other questions that I didn’t hit on, let me know in the comments and I’ll see you in tomorrow’s video.
