Description
I’ve tested over 40 saunas, but this one? Easily one of the worst I’ve ever used. It smelled awful, the EMF levels were through the roof, and the materials felt straight-up toxic. I bought it so you don’t have to—and in this video, I’ll show you exactly what went wrong and what to look for if you’re thinking about grabbing a budget sauna online.

Come with me, as you can tell, I’ve bought quite a few portable saunas over the years on a quest to try to find something. When I was moving or in between places, here’s the cheapest one that I ever bought. It just happens to be one of the worst ones that I ever bought, and it’s not because of the price.
This is by far the sh**t portable sauna that I have ever used in my life. It off-gases like crazy, it has crazy levels of high EMF, and this rubberized fabric, or vinyl fabric, whatever it is, if you can hear the crinkling, this off-gases more than anything else that I’ve ever tried, and I think because it’s not just nylon, it has these other materials inside, which by the way, are great if you have a steam sauna, because it keeps the moisture out of the tent, but terrible for infrared, because you have heaters on the sides that have a mesh in front of them, and all it does is build up off-gassing and release it right under your chin, because it’s the only place for air to escape.
So let me get zipped up here. I know you guys are wishing I maybe didn’t have clothes on or something, you weirdos out there. Here’s a couple brands, I think Serene Life makes one, just go on Amazon, it’s the $160 cheapest portable infrared sauna, maybe it’s 40 bucks more right now, I don’t know.
It’s the one that doesn’t have a nylon tent, it’s got, similar to the steam saunas, it’s got this butylene vinyl, rubberized, whatever this thing is, because the other ones don’t crinkle, it’ll make noise like that. Well I saw reviews online, you know, it’s subjective, right, because I saw reviews online where people like stuff, and I’m like, oh well, maybe if it could work, we need a cheap sauna where somebody
implement like a detox protocol that we issue in one of our books or guides or something. So just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s not a great fit for someone else. And we’re on a quest to find a sauna that would actually work for just a few hundred dollars.
The DIY is right over there. Obviously I recommend that people build that instead of this, just because you get so much more heat and so much more flexibility out of it. But it’s not right for everybody. So we’re trying to find something that is.
I was thinking maybe this would be okay because I saw the reviews. A lot of people like it. Now I can kind of tell that from the reviews the users just haven’t used anything else because otherwise there’s no way in hell that they would actually like this thing if they tried something else.
The smell is just absolutely atrocious. This is the worst one that I’ve ever tried. The worst portable sauna that I’ve ever tested. And I don’t think it has to do with the price because we have a $200 smaller Amazon nylon tent sauna over there that is in the same price range.
What’s the difference between $160 and $190? You know what I mean? That actually works for people. It’s not low VOC.
It’s not low EMF. It’s not all these things, but it also wasn’t nearly as bad as this thing. It’s pretty bad. It’s inadequately powered or heater layout is pretty poor.
You will actually get some heat out of any of these tents because they hold your body heat so well. Even just sitting in here right now, if I actually zip myself up, body heat will increase over time even though it’s still breathable. There’s still openings and things like that.
So it doesn’t take a lot of heat to start generating a sweat in one of these, but you don’t want to just generate a sweat in one area like on the small of your back. You want to be actually sweating. And at the top, the only place when you close these, well, I have to do this one, but when you zip this thing up, the only place for air to escape is right around your neck.
So when you clasp…
I can’t see what I’m doing, obviously, but when you do this, the only place that air is escaping is right here. And so any vapors, any of that crazy smell, any of the stuff that I don’t like, comes right out, right up into your face. I think that’s why it’s so pronounced for me here.
And don’t get me wrong, even the thousand dollar portable saunas behind me, those aren’t perfect either. All of them built out of these materials, off gas to some extent, just not as bad as whatever this material is here. I think it’s the vinyl in it, or it’s the rubberized coating that’s on it, or whatever.
And hey, I can even understand why they would do that, because it makes it somewhat waterproof, it makes it, you know, the cheap Amazon tent back there that we do have that works good, one of the drawbacks to it is that it has stains all over it, because it does absorb your sweat, it does seep into it, it is smaller, it rubs against your shoulders like this.
For somebody of my size, right? If you’re, you know, a smaller female or something like that, you can get away with it. For me, it’s very cramped, the chair is uncomfortable, you know, just the overall design. But I’m also biased towards other stuff, right, I’ve used almost every sauna on the planet now, so if I could go into a large wooden cabin, or something like the DIY over there, I’m a lot more comfortable, a lot happier, I’ll actually do the sessions.
But this, these are supposed to be healing pieces of equipment, not potentially detrimental, more harmful if you used it than if you didn’t use it, right? So for me, this is a no-go for sure, I don’t say that often, but this thing, we gotta get rid of it.
Just like the portable steam tents on us, right? They’re building steam in there, and they off-gas like crazy, no ventilation. At least with this, your head is outside of the portable zippy tents, you know, more so than those, which is great, but, you know, the nail in the coffin for me was…
vapors that came out went right into the the nose and I was just like this is this is no bueno comparable alternative is that tiny little Amazon tent I have it on my Amazon profile you can put a link to it somewhere in the description or a pin comment it’s not perfect either right but I’ve had a lot of people use it with success for a little bit of time I’m not saying that’s gonna last forever it’s not the best built thing it’s not low EMF it’s not vapor free like it’s not like it has zero VOC’s or anything it’s just not it’s not gonna stink up your whole house like this will
